Does Australia need a visa to visit Rwanda?
If Australian citizens are wondering if they require a visa for Rwanda, the answer is YES. More than 100 countries were able to apply for an e-visa in 2018 and acquire one in just a few days via a digital system made available by the Rwandan government. Australia is one of the countries that are qualified to receive an electronic visa using the online system. As a result, Australian residents cannot enter Rwanda without a current visa.
Australian citizens used to have to organize in-person interviews with consulates or embassies and spend a lot of time waiting in line. When they have to choose which nation has the Rwanda Embassy closest to them, the expense increases. However, Australia is home to one Rwandan Embassy. There are no longer any concerns because all Australian travelers can quickly and easily submit an application for an electronic visa at Rwanda Immigration Services.
Australian citizens will receive an email with the result of their e-visa application. Don't forget to print it before going to the airport. Border controls will only accept paper documents and will disallow digital ones. Currently, only Kamembe International Airport and Kigali International Airport in Rwanda allow e-visas. An Australian traveling to Rwanda can use an e-visa at one out of every two airports.
